Hosted an amazing dinner party with some of my housemates last night.  I made baked mac and cheese with caramelized onions and fall greens.  N. made lamb meatloaf and beet salad with toasted hazelnuts.  M. made an apple crisp.  Somehow we managed to all cook in the kitchen at once and get everything out on the table on time.  Fed about 10 people ( Read more... )

Yesterday I celebrated the 21st birthday of my friend S.  It was a lot of fun.  I rode in the kiddie seat of a Volvo station wagon for a while.

I had a really nice fourth. Tiny barbecue with excellent company followed by blues fest and fireworks. I had a damn fine view. I'm not really sure how it got to be nearly three in the morning. Apparently I've lost all sense of day and night.

Interestingly enough, I spent a good portion of this evening talking about my insomnia. Ha!

I'm not looking forward to seeing Scott McCloud on only six hours of sleep tomorrow. But I am looking forward to other things.

Apparently I can't sleep in anymore. Does this mean that I've officially reached adulthood? Or does it just mean that something in me is currently wound so tight that it won't let me sleep past 9 in the morning? At least it's better than insomnia ( Read more... )

Last night the Snarkosaurus and I went to dinner at Le Pigeon, a very snazzy Portland restaurant, because Snarkosaurus had a magic coupon for $25 off any two entrees. Nice, right?
